An Overview
![]() The idea of establishing the Glinos Foundation belongs to Professor Andre Glinos, son of the famous educator and philosopher Dimitris Glinos. This plan matured when Andre settled in Athens, Greece, in 1978, after a long stay in the U.S.A. where he had excelled as scientist in the field of medical-biological research. Establishing the Glinos Foundation, Andre Glinos and his wife Loni aimed mainly at the preservation and scientific exploitation, especially by young researchers, of the rich archival and published material of Dimitris Glinos. In March 1990 the Glinos Foundation was officialy established as a non-profit institution. The traditional residence of D. Glinos family, located in the area of Ano Patisia, 49 Polyla Street, Athens became the home of the Foundation. According to the Foundation statutes, its main purposes are:
